Batting first, India scored 302 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Opener Rohit Sharma’s brilliant century gave India a huge total. Rohit Sharma scored a century off 126 balls with 14 fours and three sixes. A century partnership with middle-order Suresh Raina (65 off 57 balls) was the backbone of the Indian innings.
Shikhar Dhawan (30 off 50 balls) and Rahane (19 off 37 balls) along with Ravindra Jadeja (23 off 10 balls) who blew in the last over also showed excellence. However, in-form captain Dhoni (6 off 11 balls) and vice-captain Virat Kohli (3 off 8 balls) were out, while Ravichandar Ashwin (3) remained unbeaten along with Jadeja.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat. India started slowly and finished well. India scored 147 runs in the last 15 overs. India managed to score 115 runs in the first 27 overs.
For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took three wickets, Rubel Hussain Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza took one wicket each.
